Load Control

Communicating Load Control Modules

DreamWatts can be made to support any communicating LCM. No matter how capable the LCM is as a standalone smart relay device, once supported by DreamWatts it becomes a full-functioning, web-capable load control device with all the power and functionality that can be enabled by the DreamWatts system.

DreamWatts LCMs are monitored continually. Stored in our database is up to 2-years' data showing states, override conditions, and full submetered data. Schedules can be programmed from the web, and all monitored data can be viewed online. In addition, selected reports of the monitored data are available for the building owner at any time.

As shipped from PowerMand, all DreamWatts LCMs are outfitted with a ZigBee radio for wireless communications with a DreamWay Gateway. Installation for a qualified installer is simple, just interrupt one leg of the power to the desired load, wire to one side of the LCM relay, and the other side of the LCM relay to the load. Power for the LCM can be supplied by the load being monitored/controlled. The DreamWatts LCM will automatically find the ZigBee network, present its security credentials, and request commissioning. Once the user, with the click of a button, acknowledges the LCM as a device intended for use on the indicated network, the DreamWatts LCM receives its programming and begins sending monitored data up to the data center. It's that simple!

Supported Load Control Modules

Entek LLC 240TCRAC/EVC Communicating LCM

A general-purpose controller based on industry standard enclosure sizes, the TC Series Remote Appliance Controller (TCRAC) is a general purpose Miniature controller based on the EnTek developed TC product line. Measuring approximately 3 ¾ X 4 ½ X 2 ½ inches, the TC series is approximately 30 percent the size of the FC series products, yet it offers unparalleled performance.

The TC RAC optionally contains up to three relays, 2 each 3 amp 24 VAC for HVAC or other class II controls and a single 30 AMP 240 VAC control relay. Each relay has the option of load sensing and “Call” sensing (the load trying to run while under control). Additionally, the TC series product has built-in power measurement and the optional ability to meter the power consumed by the device under control. This is of particular importance when sub-metering is required by the load type or class.

The Electric Vehicle Controller is a TCRAC-based product incorporating 30 Amp 240 VAC control, Power Metering, Junction Box and a front loaded power receptacle.   Special algorithms are included in the TCRAC for determining the current output through the receptacle to determining if the load is charging or has completed the charge cycle. Power is measured, metered and ultimately reported for sub-metering applications such as reduced electric rates for Electric Vehicles. The Electric Vehicle Controller has visual indicators for customer notification of current charge condition and for “deferred power”. The Electric Vehicle Controller can be used for a variety of plug-in loads such as PTAC or other through the wall air conditioning and window unit applications.
